Packing the right clothes for travel in Europe, and getting the right mixture of style and comfort, is always a challenge. On a recent day trip to Bergamo, Italy, however, I think I hit on a winning travel style. I wore a midi length flower dress and paired it with super comfortable embroidered flower booties and a leather jacket. I was comfortable all day and looked stylish enough to go to dinner after a whole day of sightseeing. Be sure to check out my newest travel video below, and experience Bergamo for yourself.

Traveling to Europe in the fall is a great idea. The weather is still beautiful, especially in Italy and southern France. But you will need to pack a bit differently than when traveling in summer. For autumn travel I would advise packing midi dresses, midi skirts, comfortable booties that you can dress up or down (the ones I’m wearing here look great with jeans as well) and a leather jacket to layer on if it gets a bit chilly. I have a newly-discovered love for midi dresses and skirts. They are so much more comfortable than jeans and you look a lot more stylish.
Bergamo is an easy day trip from Milan and is wonderful. The old town is situated above the modern city and is reached by a funicular (or stairs!). We walked on the way down. The streets of the old town are car free, easy to explore and the town has lots of lovely bakeries, restaurants and quiet piazzas.
