Oh, the ebbs and flows of fashion. Denim skirts are back in fashion. And the midi denim skirt is the queen of the denim heap this season. So wearable and so cool. Although it’s well below the knee, there is nothing modest about this skirt. The exaggerated slit makes this skirt cool. This one here is an old one, but I’ve linked below to some current favorites.
The Key To Wearing All Black
The key to wearing black from head to toe in winter, and any other season really, is playing with texture. Done right, wearing all one color doesn’t have to be boring. Texture adds just the right amount of interest and makes the outfit cool.
A Wool Poncho for Layering in Cold Weather
Throwing a wool poncho over a chunky sweater is a chic way to keep warm during cold days. I’m a big fan of layering. First, you can create new looks out of things you have in your closet anyways, and second, I love to pay with textures.
Denim Shorts
When you’re a mom, some days (especially on days you’re out and about with your little ones), all you want to do is to be comfortable. That is where my go-to denim shorts fit in. Personally, I think they are pretty cool and don’t scream “mommy”, and the fact that they are comfortable is a happy bonus. Distressed and with a raw hem, these are by far my favorite denim shorts. And they make me feel good. Isn’t that what dressing is all about? Feeling good about what you wear?
A Minimal Workweek
With a full-time job and a kid under 4, I’m always focused on putting together a minimal workweek outfit that is also on-trend. Dressing minimally takes away a lot of the anxiety of piecing together complicated outfits. But I still make sure to look fashionable.
