So wearable and so cool. Although it’s well below the knee, there is nothing modest about this skirt. The exaggerated slit makes this skirt cool. This one here is an old one, but I’ve linked below to some current favorites.

The great thing about a midi-length denim skirt is that you can dress it up for the office (and probably get away with wearing denim even on a day that is not casual Friday). For transitional weather, wear it with an oversized sweater and for the summer, pair it with a slouchy t-shirt.

Styling a Pink Coat

pink jacket and pink sweater

jcrew pink coat pink millitary jacketThere’s something so chic about a pink coat. And I think I’m not the only one who feels that way. I see pink moto jackets, pink trench coats, pink wool winter coats and anything in between. And I want them all! Pink has almost become the new black.

Pink and blush have gotten under my skin (I’m in love with my cashmere blush sweater), and I’ve wonder what the reason is. I think most of us, or at least the “us” who tend to wear a lot of neutrals, have been starved for color. And this season’s particular shade of pink is a safe neutral that works well with other neutrals.

So I’ve embraced the blush trend wholeheartedly and love styling my pink and blush pieces with this season’s other great trend – ripped jeans.

Double Up: How to layer for winter

I’m always looking for new ways to layer for winter. One of my new favorite style hacks is to layer on two jackets. Here I’ve taken two coats, from two different seasons, and paired them for a casual winter style. Underneath, I’m wearing a cotton army green jacket, and I’ve topped it off with a wool army green coat. It’s a more stylish version of the three-seasons-in-one jackets popular with the outdoorsy types.

To complete the casual, laid back look, I’m wearing double-gore suede booties. They are super easy on a lazy day and weekend, because they just pull on, and there are no laces to get in the way. And I’ve completed the outfit with rolled-up boyfriend jeans.

A Wool Poncho for Layering in Cold Weather

jcrew wool poncho in greyThrowing a wool poncho over a chunky sweater is a chic way to keep warm during cold days. I’m a big fan of layering. First, you can create new looks out of things you have in your closet anyways, and second, I love to pay with textures.

Black, White and a Pop of Pink

Street style blogger denim jacket and white popover shirtI usually keep things simple, white, black, grey, denim. But when it comes to accessories, I love to add a pop of color with a colorful bag. And I have a soft spot for pink. I have pink high heels, pink sneakers (just got them and you’ll see them in an upcoming post or my Instagram feed) and pink bags.
