Oh, the ebbs and flows of fashion. Denim skirts are back in fashion. And the midi denim skirt is the queen of the denim heap this season. So wearable and so cool. Although it’s well below the knee, there is nothing modest about this skirt. The exaggerated slit makes this skirt cool. This one here is an old one, but I’ve linked below to some current favorites.
The great thing about a midi-length denim skirt is that you can dress it up for the office (and probably get away with wearing denim even on a day that is not casual Friday). For transitional weather, wear it with an oversized sweater and for the summer, pair it with a slouchy t-shirt.
One thing I’m definitely going to miss when the warmer weather comes in spring is my favorite pom pom hat. I love transitional dressing – dressing for the in-between seasons, because it let’s me layer on. Layers are such an easy way to achieve a cool look. Add a bit of this, and a layer of that peaking underneath, mix in some great textures, and you have a killer spring outfit. The same formula works for fall outfits as well.
Here I’m wearing a suede jacket, over a grey wool sweater and a long white shirt. In transitional dressing, accessories are all important. I’m wearing a chunky pom pom hat and a cashmere grey scarf. I’ve also layered and coupon of sterling silver bracelets. One of my favorite silver John Hardy chain bracelet, and any lover of sterling silver should have at least one. It’s quite an investment, but I haven’t been able to find comparable weight and quality. Lastly I’ve completed the outfit with my staple skinny black jeans and my new favorite purple suede sneakers.
