Chambray has been the color of summer for me, and this chambray dress is one of my favorite pieces. I was so unsure when I was buying it. I liked it; there was no doubt of that. But it made me stretch outside of my comfort zone.
It was a bit shorter than I usually wear my dresses – I want them to reach my knees, since that’s a self-imposed rule I have about what is appropriate to wear to work. And the whole styling of the dress was a bit boho for me. But I love it! That whole boho thing? It does give me a bit of spring in my step. The dress is so free-flowing and non-constricting. No belts, no buttons. You just slip it on and go. And yes, I have worn this dress to work (several times now).
Okay. And can we talk about these slides. Best purchase ever! Again, a bit of a stretch for me style-wise. I’ve seen them on other people, but dismissed them as too “young”. But they do add to the whole free-spirit vibe, especially when paired with the chambray dress. Come to think of it, they bring a non-conformist/unexpected vibe to any outfit. And yes, I’ve worn them to work as well now. On Casual Friday.
