Layering With a Blush Sweater

I’ve always been and black, white and grey kind of girl (woman?). But I have to admit that blush has slowly gotten under my skin. If I had unlimited disposable income, I would be rolling in blush clothing right now. But as it stands, I’ve allowed myself to get just a few blush pieces and not get carried away. And this blush sweater is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve added to my closet this year. It’s cashmere and so soft. And the color is divine.

Double Up: How to layer for winter

I’m always looking for new ways to layer for winter. One of my new favorite style hacks is to layer on two jackets. Here I’ve taken two coats, from two different seasons, and paired them for a casual winter style. Underneath, I’m wearing a cotton army green jacket, and I’ve topped it off with a wool army green coat. It’s a more stylish version of the three-seasons-in-one jackets popular with the outdoorsy types.

Show some skin: Winterizing leather leggings

I’m a firm believer in the power of layering for winter. And since I’m already starting to get bored from my winter uniform of a mama-bear down parka, I decided to winterize my faux leather leggings. Leather leggings and a moto jacket are pieces I would wear during transitional weather. So to make them winter-proof, I added lots of layers – a cashmere sweater, a cashmere scarf, and a chunky hat.

Easy Does It: Casual Cold Weather Staples

I live in the Northeast, so I spend half the year in the cold. So I have a few cold weather staples that help me get though winter. A warm hat is essential. During the winter I really don’t care what my hair looks like. Keeping warm is more important to me, so I need my warm hat. I also have a selection of parkas that I’ve collected over the years: two down ones and one lined with fur (the one in this post). And mastering the art of layering is also essential.
